Who we and what we do
History
Alabama Custom Carts (ACC) started as a division of Industrial Electric of Alabama (IEA), an industrial electric motor shop founded in 1973. In January 2019, ACC became a separate entity in order to better serve the needs of our retail golf cart customers. Though now two separate entities, ACC still maintains an alliance and close working relationship with IEA with whom we still share warehousing and logistical and technical support.
Goals and Philosphy
We believe if we take care of our customers, our customers will take care of us and profit will take care of itself.
Goal: Provide greater value to our customer’s golf cart needs than the competition
Strategies
Minimize overhead by functioning as a local online golf cart store. We do not have a fancy showroom staffed 9-5 in a high rent / high tax district. We operate rent free out of a family owned building in unincorporated Shelby County where the sales tax is 5% as opposed to 10% in most districts. This allows us to provide enhanced value to our customers as overhead and taxes are costs that ultimately have to borne by the customer.
We believe anyone can build cheap carts at a low price or very nice carts when money is no object. We go to great lengths to find the lowest prices on good carts and components so we can pass those savings on to the Customer. We utilize multiple suppliers and intensely price shop everything we purchase as opposed to simply ordering from the most convenient source and marking it up a set percentage.
We try to utilize an on demand “Just in time” inventory model to avoid the expenses otherwise associate with maintaining hundreds of thousands dollars in inventory.
What little advertising we do is done cheaply online. Not only is the best advertising a satisfied customer, it also free
